Staci Swisher, CVT

I was born and raised in Douglas County.  I graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School in 2004 and also attended Decatur Area Technical Academy studying Agriculture and Animal Science.  I also have a First Responder License through the state of Illinois.  I graduated from Parkland College in May 2009 and became a licensed Certified Veterinary Technician.

I started volunteering at the Arthur Vet Clinic in January of 2004 through a service learning class in high school and I was hired on as part-time after graduation in May 2004.   My duties at the Arthur Vet Clinic began as small animal exam room assistant, surgery assistant, and equine assistant.  I was hired as a full time CVT in May 2009.

My boyfriend, Ryan, and I are working on remodeling our newly purchased home.  Ryan is very active in Modified Midget Racing and I go watch him as often as my schedule allows.  We have two dogs, Lyndzi is a 3 1/2 year old Staffordshire terrier mix that I got at Love at First Sight in Decatur.  The newest member of our family is Elliott, a 4 year old Chocolate Lab that was found roaming around in the country and reported by a client to the clinic.

I have always had a great interest and respect for medicine and a passion for animals, so I feel that this job is great for me.  The Arthur Vet Clinic is a wonderful practice to work for, in the time I have worked here I have become very close and supportive of co-workers.  Their sincerity and professionalism is truly something to be admired, and I hope that we all pass these qualities of ourselves to our clients.
