Eve Adams, CVT
My name is Eve Adams and this is my cat, Gordon. I started at the Arthur Veterinary Clinic in the summer of 1999 to do my internship for the Parkland Veterinary Technician Program. I really enjoyed the clinic atmosphere and working with both small animals and horses. So, at that time, I discussed working part time at the clinic. I returned to school in the fall and was working part time between the Arthur Veterinary Clinic and the Animal Health Care Center in Arcola.
I graduated from Parkland In May of 2000 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science. At this point, I took the state exam and received my Certified Veterinary Techician license. After school, I continued to work part time between the two clinics. In 2003, when a full time position became available at the Arthur Veterinary Clinic, I decided to work full time at the practice. It is always a great pleasure to come to work everyday and work with some of the most friendly and concerned co-workers and doctors.
In addition to working full time at the Arthur Veterinary Clinic, I am also very involved in the communities where I live and work. I am a retired firefighter of the Arcola Fire Service and a part time paramedic with the Arthur Ambulance Service. I am also involved with the CERT team and Search and Rescue Team of Douglas County.
Mr. Gordon, who is a eleven year old Siamese mix takes up the rest of my spare time. He was brought to my house the spring of 2004 to live with me after his owner (my aunt) passed away. We have both blossomed and grown very close to each other. Gordon spends most of his days sleeping, playing with lots of toys, bird watching (his favorite) and awaiting my arrival home from work.
