Jeannie Belton, Veterinary Assistant
Growing up on a farm gave me a great start at loving animals. Over the years, we had several dogs, cats, a few horses, sheep, pigs and at different times, cattle. What is more fun than watching puppies grow and explore....and by the way, nothing smells any sweeter that cow's breath (for real). On the farm, I was my dad's tomboy. I helped on the farm at a pretty young age. Running machinery has always been my favorite job. Combining corn tops it all. After a few detours, I met my husband, Larry, in Iowa. We have been happily married for 35 years. Larry and I farmed side by side for 25 years and loved every minute. We have two beautiful daughters, Tami Belton-Rocke and Jennifer White. Jen has given us two grandsons, Zachary and Lane, which are the love of my life. Tami has given us numerous grandhorses. They all keep us young just trying to keep up.
This bit of background explains why the Arthur Veterinary Clinic is the place for me. I assist in the care of dogs, cats, and horses. I have had no formal training in this field, but life experience and hands on training are serving me well. Dr.'s Lisa, Linda and Scott are great teachers and compassionate people. They lead by example with great work ethics and a desire to do what is best for the patients. Also at the clinic, I care for the plants and do barn maintenance. We have a great team of technicians and assistants and I enjoy working with every one of them.
In our spare time, Larry and I enjoy hot air ballooning with friends, walking, bicycling and loving our 11 year old lab, Bosco. Life has been full of changes, but working at the Arthur Veterinary Clinic is a very pleasant constant for me.
